After nearly 18 months as a team on the OCM tour FFL today added a page to their history by taking the lead in the World OCM rankings by 10pts from long time leaders Snyltarene.
Team manager, James, commented today ”Sterling Dorsher and Nico Holt are the best 2 riders in the world, it only seems appropriate that points scored by both of these riders today have given us the lead. The best riders in the best team, now all we need to do is raise funds for the best equipment” he joked. Forum posts from a year ago would show that FFL thought the gaps between then new teams and those founded in mid 2007 was too big and could never be overhauled – however with patience, careful planning, good management and a little luck FFL has shown that no gap is too big to be overhauled and manager James M said that he looks forward to the 2009 start up teams joining in the challenge for the top spot over the course of the next year.
Amongst the celebrations FFL management we’re keen to keep their feet on the ground. ”We only hold the lead by 10 points and we won 230pts tomorrow last season – so expect this lead to be temporary and a further 180pts on day 60. The lead could be changing hands a few times over the few days, our TTers will be attacking tomorrow, Lannoye (now back from injury) will be in action on day 59 and the Nico Holt Sterling Dorsher combination will be attacking the climbs on day 60 too, not forgetting last years 3rd placer Nestor Sarsola and former world champion Kenned Bang as key team mates.”
Next targets then? ”Prevent team Atlantic from reaching #1 he smiles “we’ve been very close coming through the ranks and it has been a race for the top spot recently. I think the competiveness have really helped us get close to the once 10,000pt + team, Snyltarene and close competitors Pablo Ibanez. I’m sure our competition will carry on for sometime yet though and he will take #1 sometime soon. Being serious though we want to win Germany and with Holt and Dorsher we can do a double attack – hopefully we can afford a 1.5% group set or the 5* climbing wheels before Germany to give us a little boost. Competitors will be glad to know our team won’t be improving for a while as money is being pumped into the very expensive equipment investments.

Do you sign them both up for Germany?
Then you will be the master favourite!
Holt as team mate haha xD
Cheers all, I prefer Dorsher (probably because I trained him myself) so for Nico lovers with lot's of cash I may sell him next season.
Big day tomorrow, hope I can hold on!
I hope that too:)
He's my favourite rider:)
Congratulations! Good luck in the Germany Tour!
I hope that Nico Holt will win :)
Congratulations!
A Welsh team as World No.1 - Excellent! :D
i wasn't aware that a new sign-up system was in place but if you say so.
and you aren't in the top 20 scuppernong;)
So, that injury doesn't matter for Germany..
congrats on getting to the top.
unfortunately Woodson will be unable to beat your riders in Germany as he is now injured until a day after sign up starts which will probably be too late.
then I'm still a boy:(
Congrats!
Nice article...very similar to the one I had drafted :) Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to post it sometime soon.
Germany should sort the men from the boys.
Congrats:)
I think this is a new article for the front page?
Well Done, I think it is going to a case of who can loose the least points tomorrow
